Vortron Forced Air Deicing Compressors on display at Cygnus Aviation Expo 2012

Vortron Industrial, who has been supplying their VT centrifugal compressor to the forced air deicing OE market, will now offer service, repair, plus new replacement units directly to the end-user. Meet the Vortron sales and technical staff during the Expo at booth number 311.

The most popular use of the VT unit has been with the FMC/JBT Tempest Deicer with the AirFirst™ forced air system.

New replacement compressors are fully compatible with existing configurations and are manufactured under the same quality standards as with original equipment. These units include a 12-month limited warranty.

For OE applications, a new high-flow VT-140 unit (140 lbs/min) is scheduled for release in early 2012. With the VT-140 having an impressive 81% adiabatic efficiency rating, the compressor can be operated at under 100HP input power (at an inlet temperature of 20°F/-7°C). Together with a close-coupled hydraulic drive motor, total package weight is less than 100 lb.

Forced air deicing effectively removes frost, wet snow and ice off aircraft surfaces while drastically reducing the use of expensive and hazardous glycol.

Cribmaster Showcases RFID Tool Control System at Aviation Expo 2012

The CribMaster Total RFID Tool Control System, implemented in many aircraft MRO facilities, continues to be the leading technology in FOD and high accountability areas to effectively track tools. This makes for easy supervisor FOD checks on the plant floor or in the maintenance bay. Additionally, the robust software driving cabinet automatically sends notifications to key personnel alerting them of critical situations.

Tools do get misplaced in an aircraft maintenance environment. When a tool does get misplaced, the major differentiator between a tool control system and the CribMaster Complete RFID Tool Control System is the ability to increase efficiency and reduce FOD risks by narrowing the search area to quickly locate the missing tool all with pin-point accuracy.
